It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again! The Christmas markets are opening! The biggest one in Paris, on the Champs-Elysées, unfortunately will be closed this year. But the other larger, well-known markets will still be taking place at the Place des Abbesses in the 18th arrondissement and Place Saint Sulpice in the 6th arrondissement, selling everything from hot wine and churros, to mittens and hats, to ornaments and trinkets.

The Gucci Paris Masters will be arriving in France on December 1st for it’s European leg of the Grand Slam Indoor of Show Jumping.  The show attracts nearly 200,000 visitors each year who gather to share their love and passion for show jumping in a well known and unique atmosphere. The Grand Palais, in partnership with MoMA in New York, presents a retrospective of Irving Penn, an icon of photography of the 20th century. Famous for his photographs of the major personalities of the time such as Pablo Picasso, Audrey Hepburn and Alfred Hitchcock, Irving Penn is honoured in this exhibition on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. The exhibition traces more than 70 years of a brilliant career and presents more than 240 photos thematically and chronologically. His nudes, his strangely elegant still life photos and portraits full of emotion are showing until 29 January 2018.
