An Expat Life | Diana Antholis
When we met Diana Antholis we were inspired by her amazing energy, positivity and admirable confidence in being a woman. Only minutes into the conversation we immediately felt inspired to unleash our sexy and look for our center. Diana recently moved her life to Paris ready to take on a new clientele, spread her mantras and encourage a healthy and active sense of well being. Fortunately, we were able to interview the lovely lady herself for our next expat life feature on the blog and with great excitement, we introduce you to Diana Antholis.
1) What brought you to Paris to begin with and how long have you been living here?
The need for a new challenge brought my husband and me to Paris. A French company created his dream job specifically for him. Even though he swore he’d never move back to France, the opportunity to exponentially advance his career dangled in front of us. After careful consideration, we took the bait.
You’d think that the fact that my husband is French would have made this easier, but he actually had reverse culture shock. By the time we moved to Paris, he had been living in the USA for six years and couldn’t imagine himself anywhere else. He continues to call himself an American expat in France.
However, he wasn’t the only one who was nervous. Even though I conduct business primarily online, I had built quite a community in New York. But you can either use fear to limit you or to propel you forward. We chose the latter. We landed at Charles De Gaulle on a cold rainy day in February 2014, only two months after we made the decision to move.
2) What is a normal day in the life of Diana Antholis in Paris?
Every single day is different, but in general I’m out of the apartment by 9am doing a workout—either with clients or for myself. I can walk to Jardin du Luxembourg in 2 minutes, so all my workouts are in this gorgeous park.
Then I make my own brunch and get to work. As a coach, my schedule changes every day based on my client calls. My afternoons are usually dedicated to my lifestyle coaching clients, or if I have an afternoon off, meeting a friend for tea. Then I continue to work on marketing, developing new programs, and creative ideas and writing until 7pm.
I prepare dinner 5-6 nights out of the week, unless we have plans at a restaurant or with friends.
I usually try to add in a walk and something uniquely Parisian a few days a week to take advantage of this city.
3) Where did the inspiration of “unleashing your sexy” originate?
From feeling very unsexy. People find that hard to believe now, but it’s true. I felt restricted and unlike myself.
It started when I suddenly couldn’t digest food anymore. It felt crippling, to not be able to eat anything without being in severe pain. No one knew what was wrong. After ten years of going to three different doctors, changing jobs, graduating with my masters, and moving all around the USA, I was still suffering. That’s when the answer practically hit me in the face. A book about the mind-body connection presented itself on my computer as I was perusing some blogs. It explained that awareness of your emotions can dissipate physical pain. I started really getting in touch with myself again, journaling, self-coaching, reading, and taking courses on how our minds and bodies work together. After a few months, I started feeling unleashed. I continued feeling better. I finally felt like myself. And I knew that I had to help all other women who were suffering too. Thus, Unleash Your Sexy was born.
4) Can you give us a summary of your brand and all the different aspects of it?
Live balanced, centered, and sexy.
Define Your Balance: Balance is what you want it to be. No one else can define it for you. No one else can tell you it doesn’t exist. It’s what you make of it. It’s how you want to live your life. Balance is completely subjective and you can find yours.
Find Your Center: Centering yourself means observing your thoughts. You are not your thoughts, but you can become your thoughts. There’s a big difference. Believe you have control, take yourself out of your brain, and observe the voices telling you that you’re not good enough or strong enough. Start thinking the way you want to be living.
Unleash Your Sexy: Confidence. Power. Feeling invincible. Being aware of your mind and body is sexy. Being healthy is sexy. Accepting yourself is sexy. Being you is sexy. Living the life you want is sexy. Own it.

5) How do you think health and life coaching affects people’s lives in a positive way?
You know what to do, but you’re not doing it. You know that when you make it to that yoga class, you feel less stressed. You know that when you start taking the steps to work on your goal, you feel more productive. But you let fear and self-sabotaging thoughts stop you. A coach helps you understand how truly incredible you really are, and guides you in the right direction.

7) What are your top 3 tips for a healthy, balanced and sexy lifestyle in Paris?
- Stand up for yourself. Don’t let any negative experiences make you feel inadequate.
- Be kind to yourself. You’re doing the best you can do. Moving to another country isn’t easy. Language, culture, lifestyle…take your time to learn it, but never lose sight of yourself.
- Eat the croissants. Just not every day. Restricting yourself never ends up good. Indulge, but take care of your body too.
8) Where do you see ‘Diana Antholis’ in the next few years?
Global retreats and wellness events. I will be developing events, timing ranging between between two hour events in major cities to the one week ultimate experience. I want as many women as possible to experience the mind and body philosophy, and truly live their lives unleashed!
