Allow us to introduce you to Lucia Chauvet, a Parisian born, multilingual foodie, photographer, and adventure-lover. Lucia started her blog, Lucia Talks Pictures, in 2016 with the idea to share her knowledge of food and photography in Paris, from the perspective of a multicultural life. If we could all share one common interest, food is probably the first thing that springs to mind! We are very excited to feature Lucia this week as a guest post on SFP, to have an insight into a couple of her MANY food experiences in Paris.

The education system in your country may come as innate knowledge, but from the outside looking in, the educational roadmap may be harder to navigate. As many of you are quite literally moving from the familiar to the unfamiliar, SFP thought it would be helpful to cover some of the topics central to your new way of living. The education system is perhaps one of the most important topics for those living in Paris with kids. It may be a bit tricky to comprehend on your first go, but understanding how kids come into adulthood in France is a valuable and important piece of knowledge about the French culture. Take, for example, the early pathways kids are sorted into in order to choose their topic of expertise. Or take a crack at the organization of levels (hint: the French sometimes count backwards.)

Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or not, and we have to admit we aren’t really ourselves, anything that gives us the excuse to eat well, try out a new restaurant, or enjoy an intimate dinner with friends and loved ones, is never a bad thing!
Check out the following list of some of our favourite restaurants to spend Valentine’s Day in Paris in 2017…

As ever, lots of things are happening and changing in Paris, which means we need to stay on top of it all to know what’s coming up and what is not to be missed. We thought we would help you out with a short list of some exciting things to look out for the in the City of Light this year, and to brighten up this rather grey January day.
Here’s what we’re looking forward to in Paris in 2017…
As the weather gets cooler and the leaves start to turn, we know that Autumn has officially arrived. Not that we are complaining! Autumn is one of our favourite times of the year to be in Paris. Cosying up in one of our favourite cafe’s, wearing chunky knit scarves, and enjoying the beautiful clear skies and sunsets that October brings are amongst our favourite aspects of Autumn. The best part is being able to tuck into some of the delicious and warming foods. Goodbye to picnics and hello to homemade soups!

The French are known for their flawless and seemingly effortlessly beautiful skin. How do they do it, you ask? We still have yet to find all the answers, but below are our five favorite French skincare brands that, we think, get us one step closer to the world of perfectly French skin.

Having the opportunity to live in Paris is one that we will continue to be appreciative of. It’s not often that you can step out of your front door to the smell of freshly baked goods, the beauty of your usual apartment block and the chicness of the Parisians. These are all things we are very much grateful for and of course help us to fall in love with the city of Paris so easily.
However, like anywhere in the world, Paris has it’s ups and its downs. Although the lists of positives could go on forever we thought it would be useful, and at times funny, to share with you some of the biggest struggles of living in the city of lights and how to solve them.
