SFP Picks | The Best of Bio in Paris

by

Have you noticed that as soon as a new trend hits the scene in Paris, it catches like wild fire and spreads all over the city? Admittedly, some trends are better than others but this organic, healthy eating, juice drinking, local produce, bio friendly way of life has really come to the forefront in Paris with organic-friendly places opening up everywhere.

Years ago, a french person would have found you alien-like if you told them you couldn’t eat dairy, gluten, or meat. Nowadays, we can count ourselves lucky, because not only are the options opening up for us but they’re fast becoming the “coolest” places to discover in the city today.  Check out a few of our favourite café’s where you can eat all things organic…

Wild and the Moon
55 rue Charlot, 75003
A new favourite of ours, recently opened in the Marais, seems to be going down extremely well with the urban/hipster crowd in Paris. A place that prides itself on using local, plant-based, and ethically-sourced seasonal products, offers a wide selection of organic salads, juices, soups, and desserts, all created by nutritionists to provide the healthiest and tastiest menu. Mirroring it’s raw and wild concept, the place feels very earth-like with plants, cactus, hanging pots, and wooden furniture, making you feel as though you’ve stepped right into the wild! TIP: Try the match latte with coconut milk and spirulina – it is insanely good!

Soul Kitchen
33 rue Lamarck, 75018
Soul Kitchen is a special place for us at SFP. The small, yet cosy, space is the perfect place to go for a catch up with friends, to get some work done, or simply to drink a coffee and eat the best cookie you’ll find in Paris – the Monster cookie.  Made with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, caramel, and Oreo, this truly is a mind-blowing experience! To balance out the overload of sugar, lunch time serves up a continuously changing menu of appetising meals which are always organic and made on the day by the lovely all female staff. Oh, and don’t forget to ask about their customised lemonades when you’re in the mood for a refreshing drink!

Lula
216 rue Saint-Maur, 75010
Lula, the family-run café-meets-épicerie, is located in the East of Paris just off the Canal Saint-Martin. The colourful interior and familial atmosphere draws in a crowd to enjoy their small organic and gluten free dishes. The Niço-Colombian sisters run the organic concept store and restaurant offering a nice mix of South American cuisine, fresh juices using local and seasonal produce, and excellent coffee. It’s the perfect place to relax with friends or maybe meet new ones! If you’re a fan of fajitas, then that’s our personal favourite dish, otherwise hit up their 100% organic brunch on a Saturday for some fuel boosting & flavoursome food!

Café Pinson
58 rue due Faubourg Poissonière, 75010 (plus 3 other locations)
My favourite time to go to Café Pinson is in the morning for breakfast. Their freshly squeezed (normally green) juice of the day is just what you need to start the morning off right. Teamed with homemade granola, an almond milk cappuccino, and madeleines with homemade Nutella and jam. There’s not a lot more we could ask for in life! The cosy setting and the pastel blue tones of the café make for a relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable experience. It’s also a great place to get some work done if you want to go and spend the day eating all things organic!

Café Mûre
6 rue Saint Marc, 75002
Tucked away behind the bustling Grands Boulevards is the light & colourful Café Mûre. The inviting decor and friendly waiters draw you in to this place immediately. Take a seat on the mini sofa, or one of the multicoloured stools, and take some time to look over the menu full of delicious, bio and homemade food. Portions are generous, so be sure to save some room for dessert because the brownie is just too damn good to miss out on!
