Paris Dining | Good for No Reservations
We get a lot of last-minute dining requests here at Savoir Faire Paris, which is not always an easy feat! For those of you who enjoy a more spontaneous soirée, here are some of our suggestions for restaurants that don’t take reservations. Luckily for you, some of Paris’ best tables have landed on this list.
Artisan & Buvette Gastroteque
Our top recommendations for no-reservation dining are usually wine bars that serve food as well. Artisan and Buvette are two recently opened spots in the trendy SoPi neighbourhood with a focus on wine (Buvette) and cocktails (Artisan) that also happen to serve some serious chow. Neither of these spots take reservations and both get rather crowded so we suggest hitting them on the earlier side to ensure a spot.
Artisan is a lively happening place with craft cocktails constantly shaking behind the bar and music lighting up your eardrums. The menu is mostly small plates but it can easily be made into a meal with iberico ham to duck tartare. Stop by on Sunday for their newly launched brunch and oysters too!
Buvette Gastroteque has made its way from NYC to Paris and is more of a romantic, French countryside setting with a large selection of wine and some great small plates. Their menu includes for sections: tartines, fish, meat and vegetables with 3-4 options in each section for you to choose from. Their homemade terrine is delicious and the salmon rillettes are served with generous portions. From the owners of L’Office comes Le Richer, an all-purpose, all-day culinary experience. Awarded Le Fooding‘s Best New Bistro of 2014, this restaurant is open from 8am and serves non-stop throughout the day. It does get quite crowded for dinner so make sure to pop in early, have a glass of wine and order from the menu when your stomach starts to grumble. They serve small-plates to start with like their super creamy burrata or you can order main dishes like the delicious veal with mushroom-stuffed cannelloni. Pierre Sang Boyer
If you are looking for a last-minute gastronomic experience in Paris – Pierre Sang Boyer is it. Top Chef finalist, Chef Pierre Sang, has opened his no-reservations (groups 6 people and over can reserve in advance) restaurant in a narrow spot on the bustling rue Oberkampf in the 11th. Snag a seat at the bar and watch as Pierre Sang puts together a no-choice tasting menu of that day’s seasonal picks. Get there at 6:30pm and wait for the doors to open at 7pm. Clamato is the newest addition to the Paris dining scene from the duo behind the constantly booked Septime. This instalment comes in the form of an oyster bar with a long L-shaped counter and seven small tables. The small printed menu changes daily and the dishes are made to share, tapas style, and are prepared with the elegance and creativity that we have come to expect from the chefs. Once again, this spot fills up since they don’t take reservations so pop in early, or late! They have non-stop service Saturdays and Sundays from noon-11pm.Clamato 80 rue Charonne, 75011 Paris
